Chicago Illinois Concealed Carry Licenses are Coming, or are they?, for Gun Nuts
By Gabby For Gun nuts
Earlier this week I posted about my trip to Chicago, IL and my plans for self protection while there. Many of you had recommendations for every day carry items that I might use to keep myself safe, and I am grateful. However, Illinois recently passed concealed carry legislation that will change the self defense opportunities for Chicago residents, and I wanted to take a look at what these new laws have to say.10/29/2013

Visiting Chicago, A Gun Girl is Unarmed, for Gun Nuts
By Gabby For Gun Nuts
I've been working hard lately, to carry concealed, regularly. While spending a week in an unfamiliar Georgia city my ccw was in my purse everyday. When running around my home turf of Atlanta I prefer small of the back holstering, though I may alternate to my purse if I'm jumping in and out of the car excessively. It's easier to carry in the fall and winter because layers of shirts and jackets help me to conceal bulges.10/24/2013

School Shooting Solution
By Gabby
On Monday a middle schooler in a small town in Nevada, shot and wounded two of his classmates and killed a teacher just as classes were about to begin. The boy turned the gun on himself long before nearly 200 police officers arrived. There is no word yet on how the boy was able to procure the gun from his home or what his intentions may have been. What has been made clear is that the teacher who was killed was a beloved educator, as well as a Marine. He died while protecting the other students and is deservedly, being called a hero.10/22/2013

I only started handling handguns about 3 years ago. I was in the same boat most women are. Where do I begin? I was fortunate however to have started a part-time job at a gun range near Seattle called West Coast Armory. The range had an extensive collection of rental handguns and revolvers. ...

Moving and Shooting for the first time, for Gun Nuts
By Gabby For Gun Nuts
When I began shooting I didn’t take lessons, I simply took advice. A friend would show my a new grip or stance, and I would try them out and then adopt things that worked for me. (It’s interesting to go back and look at some of my early videos and notice techniques that previously “worked” for me.)10/15/2013

Eastbound on I-20…something as familiar to me as the back of my hand. The destination? Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center, which resembles state parks I frequented as a youngster. Today I am copiloting, a role that is new for me. My mother received that distinct pleasure, when father would take us camping. Lately, when headed out with my son, I do all the driving. This is a different trip, though.

My Boyfriend is Not a Gun Guy

"Accidental" Shootings & Child-Martyrs for Gun-Control are Real, says NYTimes for Gun Nuts
By Gabby for Gun Nuts
It should come as no surprise that the New York Times is putting out slanted articles filled with fear inspiring statements that demonize guns. However, this weekend the Times devoted more than half of it's cover page to making children, who were accidentally shot and killed, into little martyrs for the pro gun-control argument. The New York Times will call these deaths "accidents" because the person who caused the gun to fire was not aware that pulling the trigger would have such a consequence, but I am less willing to divert that blame.10/01/2013
2A and the City - Bikers v. Range Rover, If they had Guns
By Gabby
You may have seen the Youtube video that was all over the news this morning. This video was of a brutal attack of a man in a Range Rover by a group of bikers in New York City. Having learned to drive on that exact stretch of road (the West Side Highway) I can say from experience that ANY driver would find it uncomfortably narrow. I can also say from watching a great deal of the footage from the helmet cam, the weaving around that this group of bikers was doing, would make me an exceptionally uneasy motorist in a similar situation.
