CZ's New 3-Gun Shotgun Offering
By Gabby For Gun Nuts
As SHOTShow began, I made a bee line for the CZ-USA booth. The company has held a special place I my heart since I purchased my first pistol, a CZ 75 B, and they haven't let me down since. I didn't know it as I visited the CZ booth, but later that day I would find out that the first ever ladies only 3-gun major match was about to be announced. What made this news even more exciting was that it would occur in Covington Georgia, surprisingly close to my home in Atlanta.1/22/2014
Don't Tell Anybody, We're Marketing to Women
By Gabby For Gun Nuts
The big secret a SHOTShow 2014 was everyone’s interest in marketing to women. Actually, it wasn’t much of a secret. For the past three years, I’ve been writing about how pink guns will not be the end of it. However, what I found most interested, was the way many of the manufacturers would look around and then whisper to me, “we really want to market to women”, as if it were a racial slur or something.1/21/2014
We're Reading- "Small carry pistols prominent at 2014 SHOT Show"
The 2014 SHOT Show was notable for the many new offerings of small caliber, small frame pistols. While the ‘cognoscenti’ of the tactical community decry anything less than a 9mm as a carry pistol, the public has continued to ignore that advice in droves. ...

We're Reading- "Gunfight Friday: Over/Under vs Side-by-Side"
Over/Under or side-by-side? That’s the question in today’s Gunfight. Personally, my answer is “some of each, please,” although I probably shoot O/Us better if only because I shoot them much more often. ...

First Look Remington R51 Review
By Gabby
Since Remington didn't bring the R51 to Media Day at the Range, it's anybody's guess how it shoots, but based on its weight, it probably doesn't kick too bad. That's right, the first thing I noticed about the R51, is that it's heavy. My next thought was that, while thin, the R51 is almost full sized. This really surprised me. I wasn't expecting a gun that could be called a steel version of Ruger's LC9.1/14/2014

Glock 42 First Look Review
By Gabby
Honey I shrunk the Glock! A first look at the Glock 42
[tweet this]
If I was ever going to like a .380, I would strongly consider liking the Glock 42. It was a weird feeling, holding a really small gun that felt like a Glock. With all the bells and whistles of a gen 4, from multiple backstraps, to checkering, yet thin, I sort of felt like I was a giant, holding a Glock 19. The whole experience was just that hard to wrap my brain around.

SHOTShow Question of the Day
By Gabby
Well, we're here! Las Vegas again. Feels like only yesterday we were starting 2013, right here! Every day of SHOTShow I will be asking those I meet, a question of the day. These questions are designed to delve into the people behind the guns. After all, they're people too... They may write about, design or sell guns, but they have other stuff going on as well, right? So we're planning to ask, and then we'll deliver our results.
Today we are asking: When did you first learn to shoot? And who introduced you to shooting?
Feel free to answer as well.

New Pocket Pistols are not for Beginers, for Gun Nuts
By Gabby For Gun Nuts
I remember a few years ago when the general public couldn't get their hands on the Smith and Wesson Shield but every woman I spoke to was convinced it was the gun for her. Since then a few new pocket pistols have come out each year and I have seen the same dance repeat. Many times, the women who are clamoring to buy one of these tiny gun, have never pulled a trigger in their lives.1/07/2014
We're Reading- "How to Pair Barrel Twist Rates with Bullets"
When the U.S. military first adopted the M16 rifle in the 1960s, the M193 cartridge and its 55-grain bullet was standard. The earliest issued variations of Eugene Stoner’s “Black Rifle” came with relatively slow rifling twist rates of 1-in-14 inches. ...

Review: Smoke 'Em Targets
By Gabby
Smoke 'Em Targets are a fun concept! When you shoot certain areas of the target, you are rewarded with a colorful puff of powder, that let's you know what you've hit. This was especially helpful, because from about 15 yards, I had no idea where on the target, I was hitting. If I could change one thing about the Zombie Lunch Lady image, I would increase the contrast, so that I could better distinguish the cross hairs in the drawing. Also, don't put the gosh darn thing 15 yards out... My bad.1/01/2014
